IFP pleads for mature leadership in KZN

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has pleaded for mature leadership in KwaZulu-Natal in the wake of the resignation of Premier Senzo Mchunu and possible cabinet reshuffle.

The IFP is noting current developments within the ANC which, unfortunately, seem to be causing some consternation in some quarters. Our view is that the ANC, like every political party, has very right and prerogative to deploy and redeploy their members in accordance with their particular circumstances and we fully respect that.

We can only pray for mature leadership that will navigate these circumstances with sensitivity so as to ensure that our Province remains stable and service delivery is not compromised.

With regards to MEC Willies Mchunu, we acknowledge that he is a seasoned leader with a long experience in government. Consequently we are hopeful that he will shoulder the new responsibilities.

In conclusion, IFP wish both the outgoing Premier and in-coming one well in their new deployments.
